Pete Thorsen has seen Jimmy Ray Evans only once in thirty years so he’s surprised when his former army buddy suddenly appears on his doorstep. Jimmy Ray insists on keeping a low profile, which is out of character for
him, and does other odd things. A bar fight prompts Pete to ask a detective friend to check him out. The feedback stuns him. Now Pete’s torn between helping a man he once considered a good friend and staying aloof from the fray. Half-measures rarely work, and when Pete tries, he finds himself locking horns with the authorities as he plays for time to determine whether the story Jimmy Ray told him is true. The more he probes, the deeper he gets dragged into a world of corruption and ugly family strife and violent grudges. And then becomes a target himself.

Five-Star Review!!

“Wangard’s prose is the essence of economy . . . The pace of the story moves along swiftly and multiple characters moving in and out of the narrative are easy to keep up with. Plus there are enough twists and turns along the way to keep you wondering whether or not Thorsen is doing the right thing by trying to do right by his philandering friend. If you like your crime fiction fast, fit and free of overindulgence, you just might want to consider getting FRAMED.”

Pacific Book Review

“ …an engrossing and surprising story line. … fast, fun and entertaining. . . . Pete [Thorsen], both clever and realistic, proves to be a relatable protagonist. … A complex conclusion solidifies this as appealing crime fiction.”
